COOKSON, Robert Pte. 16007

Robert Cookson transferred to the Labour Corps as Private 689814 (date unknown), and was with the Pals when they left the town to go for training at Caernarvon in February 1915.

A Robert Joseph Cookson was born to Robert and Mary Cookson in early 1893, being recorded on the 1911 Census as a Cabinet Maker living with his parents at 79 Moor Road in Chorley. He married Annie Waddington at St. George’s Church in 1913, having four children.

The Robert Cookson in the Chorley Pals was recorded on the Chorley Roll of Honour attending St. George’s Church.
