Osborn Perkins was not on the Pals list in the Accrington Observer dated February 1915, nor is there a O. Perkins listed on any medal rolls as serving in the East Lancashire Regiment. However, it was reported that he was wounded at Serre on the 1st July 1916, eventually receiving treatment at Redlands Hospital in Reading. Also, he saw fellow Pal Private Alfred Lord killed that morning. It is more than likely that he joined the Chorley Pals in France as part of the June 1916 intake.
Other Information: He is believed to be Osborn Perkins, born in Burnley in 1891 but not any Census records; it is possible he used a different first name.
