TOWERS, Thomas Pte. 15545

Thomas Towers was born in Clayton Green in 1895 and lived with his widowed mother at Stone Cottage in the village, attending St. Bede’s R.C. Church near-by. Upon enlisting in the Pals in 1914 he was working at Swansey Mill at Whittle-le-Woods.

Thomas was wounded in the arm and leg at Serre on the 1st July 1916, eventually being treated at a hospital in Blackpool.
