Work continues at a pace on the Chorley Pals Memorial site, with a complete length of flags being laid on the main path.
Originally scheduled to be completed by mid-August, the completion date is now looking like Wednesday, 22nd August.
The design of the two interpretation boards is nearing completion by the designer at manufacturers, Border Signs Ltd. in Dumfries, and they are expected to be installed on site by the 21st.
Whilst on the site yesterday, Chorley Pals Memorial Secretary & Co-Founder, Steve Williams, took the opportunity to inspect the memorial and statue.
Wearing the obligatory hard hat and yellow HV vest, Steve used a ladder to climb up to check the condition of the statue and base, taking some interesting photographs in the process.
Following the inspection, we have asked our stonemasons to repair some frost damage, re-seal some joints and clean the plinth.
