Work is nearly finished at the site, with turf being laid around the memorial today.
The interpretation boards are due to be installed tomorrow, and the official handover by the contractors is set for 11.00 a.m. on Thursday (23rd August), but the fence may remain up until first thing Friday morning.
Chorley Pals Memorial secretary Steve Williams was on site this morning, and spoke to many shoppers at the weekly Flat Iron market who stopped by to comment on how impressed they were with the improvements to the site.
