Talk at Chorley Library in January

Tickets are now available from Chorley Library for an illustrated talk entitled “We will remember them”.

The talk in the Library on the afternoon of Tuesday, 10th January 2012 between 2.30pm and 3.30pm will be given by Chorley Remembers Secretary, Steve Williams.

In the presentation will be black and white footage of the war memorial and arch in Astley Park being officially unveiled back in May 1924, courtesy of the North West Film Archive.

The plans for the addition of over 675 names of Chorley men who died in two World Wars will be featured, as will stories of some of the men.

Also featured will be designs for a new ‘Remembrance Experience’ in Astley Hall, as well as looking at the history of the ROF site at Euxton as part of a video memories project.
