BROWNE, Henry Pte. 15527

Henry Browne served as a Bandsman and possibly as a Stretcher Bearer; he was known to have been wounded in the war.

Born in 1886, he lived in Chorley and worked at Fosterfield Mill in the town; he attended St. Laurence’s Church. Henry’s medal roll index card shows that he (or a member of his family) applied for his two First World War service medals in September 1940, giving an address of 165 Pilling Lane in Chorley.
