Albert France was wounded during the war.
He was born in Chorley in 1889, the son of Sarah and Edward France, and youngest of four children. In 1901 they were living at 52 Bolton Road in 1901, whilst the 1911 records show him living at 53 Bolton Road with his parents; his occupation was Clogmaker.
Albert married Margaret Ellen Higham at St. Laurence’s Church in 1912 and was known to have attended St. George’s Church in the town. The 1918 Chorley Electoral Roll had him as an absent voter from 11 Hollinshead Street.
Albert died in Chorley in 1983 at the age of 94.
