Samuel Halton was known to have been wounded during the War.
Born in Chorley on the 15th September 1897, he was one of six children born to Samuel J. and Ely A. Halton. The 1901 Census had him living at 27 Bolton Street in Chorley and at Grimeford Village, Anderton on the 1911 Census. By this time he was working as a Cotton Warehouse Boy; he was known to worship at St. George’s Church in Chorley.
