HUNTON, Thomas Pte. 15273

Thomas Hunton appears to have joined up with his brother, Joseph, as they have sequential Army numbers.

He was wounded at Serre on the 1st July 1916 and saw Sergeant Grimshaw, Sergeant Lang and Private Hardman killed as they advanced towards the German trenches.

Thomas married Jessie Mawdsley at St. Philomena’s Church in Toxteth, Liverpool in 1919; they had one daughter who was born in Chorley in 1921.
