Daniel Waring was a Private when going to Caernarvon in 1915. He was wounded at Serre on the 1st July 1916, thereafter being transferred to the Labour Corps with a new number of 214943.
He was born in Chorley in 1883 to James and Elizabeth Waring and lived on Hollinshead Street from birth to at least after the First World War. He married Martha Alice Rigby at St. Laurence’s Church in Chorley in 1908 and their daughter, Margaret, was born in 1913. Both the 1901 and 1911 Census records showed that he worked as a Wagon Painter.
